I Do Cakes: My name is Megan Gotliffe and I am the owner of I Do Cakes. I started baking at a young age, but my love of baking as an artform sparked while attending Wake Tech for culinary school. I knew after the first cake decorating class this is what I was meant to do! During my time at Wake Tech I held an internship at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, where I was allowed to express my creativity and fine tune my decorating skills. From Prestonwood I went on to hold positions all over the triangle, including Bittersweet, Mandolin, and most recently The Umstead Hotel & Spa. I Do Cakes was started in 2014 as a small side business while I soaked up as much pastry knowledge as I could. Last year, with the birth of my son, it became full time! I believe wedding cakes should taste as good as they look, so my goal with I Do Cakes is to create a stunning piece of art that will satisfy everyone's sweet tooth.
